SATURDAY FIVE
PREMIERSHIP
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR v Manchester City
Stuart Pearce was right to lambast his Manchester City (5.5 at Bet 365) side for their lacklustre displays of late and it is hard to see where they are going to get the extra gear to take on Tottenham (1.61 at Bet 365).
Martin Jol's side are in fourth place and know that they must keep winning if they are going to hold the advantage over Arsenal who they clash with next week.
Winner get a Champions League place and £40m cash.
So, no big deal then.
The draw is 3.6 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Spurred on
CHAMPIONSHIP
LEEDS UNITED v Plymouth Argyle
It's squeaky bum time in the Championship now that Reading have confirmed their Premiership place for next season.
No more so than in Leeds (1.57 at Bet 365) who have failed to win since beating Crystal Palace at the beginning of March.
They will still be hopeful of a second spot with a win here, but perhaps more importantly they have to get their form back before the play-offs.
Plymouth (5.5 at Bet 365) are no great shakes on the road, so there are no excuses here.
The draw is 3.5 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Leeds relieved
LEAGUE ONE
BRENTFORD v Bradford City
That sparkling FA Cup run back in January/February may seem like a distant memory for Brentford (1.61 at Bet 365) now, but the south-west London side may still have a fairytale end to their season.
They sit in second and in good shape to stay there, if they keep winning at Griffin Park.
They have lost two out of their last three home games, and Bradford (5.0 at Bet 365) are steady at picking up points on their travels, so this won't be easy.
But the Bees may sneak this one.
The draw is 3.5 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Bees buoyant
Walsall v BRISTOL CITY
They may have completely stuffed up their promotion campaign this season (as predicted by my good self under a barrage of hate-mail from the Westcountry) but there is no denying that City (2.5 at Bet 365) have got it right at the tail-end of the campaign.
Eleven points to make up in six games is probably too much. Six wins in their last nine games have taken them out of the relegation dogfight and into the realm of possibility.
Walsall (2.5 at Bet 365) are drifting at the wrong end of the table, and their relegation dogfight may make them slight favourites to win this game.
But their salvation, if it comes, will be away from the Bescot Stadium where they have had less joy in the final third of the season.
The draw is 3.25 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: City joy
LEAGUE TWO
CARLISLE UNITED v Grimsby Town
This top of the table clash is likely to decide who wins League Two this season.
Both sides have had their stutters in the last few games Grimsby (3.4 at Bet 365) were stuffed 5-0 at Lincoln a week or so ago, while Carlisle were mugged by Swansea last weekend.
But Carlisle (2.0 at Bet 365) are the better of the two sides for me. They can score at any time, which is the key to coming through the sticky patches. Very few teams can win a title without being able to score almost at will.
Which makes Carlisle a very sound bet at home at Evens.
The draw is 3.2 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Carlisle closer
