PREMIERSHIP
NEWCASTLE UNITED v Wigan Athletic
News is filtering through that Newcastle (1.83 at Bet 365) are just two steps away from naming their new manager - and the rumours are already sending a rocket up the players.
It is down to two hopefuls - Sam Allardyce or Roberto Mancini - and one of those is only in the frame because a Geordie estate agent swears he saw Mancini scoping a house in Gosforth.
I can tell you that Sam has told Freddy Shepherd that he will say yes to the job once he gets told that he has no chance of the England job after the summer.
Which lends itself to a hardworking end of season for Newcastle, who are now playing for their jobs.
Wigan (4.33 at Bet 365) are on a hiding to nothing.
The draw is a whopping 3.3 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Newcastle moving on
CHAMPIONSHIP
CRYSTAL PALACE v Crewe Alexandra
Although Crewe (5.5 at Bet 365) are in danger of pulling themselves out of an untenable position, they may have to wait until the end of the weekend for some good news.
This is Palace's time of the season and they should prove far too strong for a Crewe (5.5 at Bet 365) side clutching at straws.
The draw is 3.75 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Palace coup
LEAGUE ONE
SOUTHEND v Gillingham
Southend (1.61 at Bet 365) are just two wins away from claiming the championship - and the first of those should come here at home to Gillingham (5.0 at Bet 365).
Although Gillingham won their last away game that was just their second of the season - and it was against lowly MK Dons.
This should be a promenade for Southend.
The draw is 3.5 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Southend success
Rotherham v BRENTFORD
Although the title looks like it is going to Southend, the only thing stopping them is the form of Brentford (2.25 at Bet 365).
The Bees have drawn their last two and may have the appearance of limping over the line, but one big push against Rotherham (2.8 at Bet 365) should do the trick.
And for holding one of the best away records in the league, Brentford are a very high price against these relegation strugglers.
The draw is 3.25 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Bees buoyant
LEAGUE TWO
Bristol Rovers v CARLISLE UNITED
Carlisle's (2.3 at Bet 365) victory over second-place Grimsby last weekend almost guaranteed them safe passage into League One.
After we backed Carlisle at 2.5 last weekend, the bookies continue to give us value on the league leaders away from home, this time at Bristol Rovers (2.7 at Bet 365), who have lost three of their last five home games.
The draw is 3.3 at Bet 365.
VERDICT: Carlisle cruise
