Finaly the first round starts in the dutch competition after a long summer break. Both teams where pretty active on the transfer market.
First the home team.
Ajax picked up some pretty experienced players like Jaap Stam (from Milan) Gabri (from Barcelona) Roger (from Villareal) Dennis Gentenaar (from Borussia Dortmund) George Ogararu (from Steaua Boekarest) and Kenneth Perez (from AZ) and they held back some players who played on loan Krohn-Delhi (RKC Waalwijk) & Tom de Mul (Vitesse)
Most important players who left Ajax this summer are Trabelsi, Pienaar and Galasek.
Ajax played already two important matches. The defeated FC Kopenhagen 1-2 in Denmark for Champions league qualifiers. And last Sunday the defeated PSV Eindhoven 3-1 in the dutch super cup.
Away Team.
RKC Waalwijk lost a lot of key players of last season in the summer break. De Ceulaer, Martens, van Dijk, Lurling and Zuiverloon where first eleven players last season. RKC picked up a new striker from Sparta: van den Bergh, and two midfielders Reuser (from Willem II) and Vicelich (from Roda JC)
The Game:
Ajax starts the competiton at home under new coach ten Cate, who tried a lot of players in the pre season games. Perez is out of form (but scored against PSV), and Babel played pretty wel against PSV on the left wing last Sunday. Ogararu started at right back, but played like sh*t and was substituded after 45min.
Probable line up Ajax;
Stekelenburg, Heitinga, Vermaelen, Stam, Emanuelson, Sneijder, Gabri, Maduro, Rosales, Huntelaar, Babel (Perez)
RKC is much weaker on every place on the field. The lose of all those key players will do no good to the team. The team is simply not good enough to beat Ajax in Amsterdam, because there is not enough quality in the team.
