Although Liverpool played really bad in the preparation period and in the Champions League qualifications against Maccabi,
they showed that they werent serious on that matches. On their first big match this season Liverpool managed to beat Chelsea in the Charity Shield with 2:1.
Liverpool is having even stronger team than last year, mostly because of some good transfer activity.
They brought very pacey players who are representing great threat to the opposition goal for 90 minutes in the names of Pennant and Bellamy.
Bellamy showed how good he is and was Liverpools best player in this season so far. Pennant will play on the right where he will stretch
the opposition defense and his crosses will be very dangerous. Knowing that Liverpool is having big man in the box
, Liverpool now will be as strong in the attacks as in the midfield and defense.
Sheffield United finally managed to promote in the Premier League, but according to their squad, they will have tough season.
In my opinion, Sheffield will have hard fight against relegation this season.
What to expect from this match
. Liverpool is playing a bit weaker away then a home and they had problems in their away matches in the past years,
but now with additions of Pennant and Bellamy their counter attack will be even more dangerous that is was last year.
So I expect a big improvement in their away record this season. For Sheffield this will be first match in the Premier League after a long time and their fans are looking forward to that.
But their squad is not good enough.
I believe that Liverpool will dominate in the midfield and only chance for Sheffield I see in the long balls and counter attacks.
But I must say that Liverpool is very well organized at the back and I think that they will not have many troubles in this match.
Sheff Utd have no pace whatsoever, and are just a very workmanlike average team who shouldnt really trouble Liverpool.
Liverpool can change tact mid game ,ie from pacey wingers crossing ,to long ball, to any other system Benitez sees fit , wheras warnocks options are very limited !
1 way traffic for me . Efficient win for the reds would be my best guess.
