Tottenham's England defender Michael Dawson insists a victory over Barclays Premiership newcomers Sheffield United on Tuesday night will help them forget about their opening-day disaster at Bolton.
Spurs lost 2-0 at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday and must now go into their clash against United sweating on the fitness of England striker Jermain Defoe, who has a bruised foot and will undergo a late fitness test.
Coach Martin Jol said: ``Jermain is a worry. He bruised his foot but he's a tough lad and maybe he'll be in the squad, we'll have to see.''
Spurs will have midfielder Teemu Tainio back after he missed the Bolton game with a twisted ankle and Dawson believes it is vital to get back to winning ways against the Blades.
Neil Warnock's side held Liverpool to a draw on the opening day and they will be very physical opponents for Jol's side, but Dawson said: ``Bolton was a disappointing result and performance from our point view and we are obviously very low.
``We've got to put it behind us now and look to United. We've got to get our heads down and work on what we didn't do.
``I think Bolton's first goal was definitely a free-kick having seen a replay, but we are disappointed to have conceded from a set piece.
``The second one was a great goal by Ivan Campo and sometimes you have got to hold your hands up. We just didn't perform on the day though.
``Hopefully we can get back to winning ways, put Bolton behind us and work towards it not happening again.''
David Unsworth has accused referee Rob Styles of making excuses for the error that marred Sheffield United's return to the Premiership.
Captain Chris Morgan was adjudged by Styles to have clipped Steven Gerrard in the penalty area, resulting in Liverpool's equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.
But Styles then opened up a can of worms by claiming players can be penalised for simply intending to foul an opponent, even if there is no contact.
Veteran defender Unsworth has described Styles' comment as ``a load of rubbish''.
The 32-year-old added: ``He is trying to justify his decision, and I'm not having any of it.''
When asked whether clarification was needed on the issue, the 14-year professional replied: ``I don't think it needs any.
``I just feel he got it wrong, but we all make mistakes. Players do, referees do, and unfortunately his mistake has cost us two points.
``When players make mistakes we learn from it. Hopefully the referee can learn because I don't think many people feel it was a penalty.
``But it's gone, we accept it.''
Assistant manager Stuart McCall, preparing the side for Tuesday's visit to Tottenham with manager Neil Warnock remaining in London following his TV commitments over the weekend, feels with hindsight Styles will have questioned his own judgment.
``When it happened at the time, I could understand why he gave it,'' remarked McCall.
``But afterwards when you saw it, and even when you watch it in slow motion, you think there hasn't been contact.
``Looking back, if he is honest, he would probably say there was no way Morgan intended to bring down Gerrard.
``Obviously, there was a great one-two between Gerrard and Fowler, but everyone can see Morgs has gone for the ball.
``Gerrard skipped over him, the ball held up and he got a shot off. As soon as he did that I thought we'd got away with it, but then he has pointed to the spot.
``We were happy with a point, but now we have to get over it and look ahead to Tottenham.''
Veteran centre-back Craig Short is out of Sheffield United's clash against Tottenham.
Short was a late withdrawal from the squad for Saturday's opening 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Bramall Lane after tearing fibres in his thigh and has failed to recover.
Manager Neil Warnock has named a 20-man squad for the game, with Ian Bennett, Alan Quinn, Nick Montgomery and Rob Kozluk the additions from the 16 on duty against Liverpool.

Do not be fooled by the teams first matches. Bolton is very strong when playing at home. The same players are
performing much better at Reebok stadium, than when they are playing away. And I must not forget that the pressure
that Bolton fans is making is influencing to the home team and in many cases I have got an impression that Bolton players
are getting wings when they are playing at home. Bolton outplayed many stronger teams at Reebok Stadium.
Sheffield U. had an easy job against sharpless Liverpool. Liverpool never looked dangerous despite controlling the game.
I really cannot understand how title contender cant outscore relegation candidate. I guess every team can have a bad day.
But my point was that Sheffield did not played well and they were lead by the debut in Premier League and home fans.
For this match it will be completely different. Tottenham will play at home, with home fans on their side and Tottenham did very well
last season at home. Sheffield I think is not having too many chances against Spurs tomorrow. Playing away against team like Spurs
youll need pacey attackers to create some danger in front of Robinson goal (who didnt played well against Bolton, I must admit) and
Sheffield is not having this kind of attackers in their team. I believe that Spurs will bounce back and will beat the newcomers easily
